Artist Spotlight: Chirondala Maduka

Chirondala Maduka is a triple threat; she sings acts and dances and has been on many international platforms and sets. She is now pursuing her solo career as an independent Inspirational Gospel artist who has travelled abroad and within the US ministering through song. 

PURPOSE 
Chirondala flows prophetically during her ministration and is a powerful teacher of the Gospel. Her life is ministry; her destiny and purpose is to create perpetual change in the lives of the lost through her earthy, inspirational, creative style of music.

Even if the lost don’t think they’re lost; they will come into the awareness of Yah’s love by way of her music. 

 

FAMILY 
She comes from a long line of singers. Her grandmother, Josephine Armstrong, travelled for many years singing with Aretha Franklin, Andrae Crouch, and she opened up for Dixie Hummingbirds. Chirondala’s parents, Bryana and Moses Brown, both sang. Moses, her father, sang backup for Little Richard and also worked as his stylist, Little Richard later became her Godfather once she was born. Her great uncle, whose name was Paul Foster, sung with the famous and well-known quartet group the Soul Stirrers from 1950 to 1963. Foster sang second lead alongside two other Gospel greats, Robert Harris and Sam Cooke. 
Mortonette Jenkins, Singer of R&B/Soul and Blues A.K.A. Jodi Mathis Mortonette Stephens is her Godmother and mentor. Now Dr. Mortonette Stephens, she has sung with many top charting artist, one being Michael Jackson. She sang BGV’s on Michael Jackson’s “Off the Wall” and has an extensive touring career.  Dr. Stephens has also sung with Little Richard, Barbra Streisand and Elton John, just to name a few. 

Chirondala’s other mentor is Jason Anderson who is an established Music Producer, Recording Engineer & Computer Tech. He has toured and recorded New Edition, Faith Evans, Keith Sweat Boyz ll Men Teddy Riley En Vogue Johnny Gill Pointer Sisters Stevie Wonder, the list could go on and on. Jason and Chirondala are known as the father and daughter duo, as he has stepped up in her life as that for many years now. 

Chirondala’s 3rd cousin is Stevie Wonder, who has been a pioneer and musical influence across many genres of music. Chirondala had no choice but to sing because it was and is so deeply engrained in her family lineage. 
MUSIC CAREER 
She’s been singing since she was five years old, thanks to her grandmother. She was the first and only child in the adult choir at her Church, Living By Faith Ministries; there, she was apart of her first recording project. She leads a song on the cd alongside her mother, Bryana Vosley, called “L.O.V.E. LOVE. ” While Chirondala was still in junior high school, she joined the Jacksonville State University Gospel Choir. Again, she was the youngest and only non-college member. She eventually attended the JSU and remained in the choir. By the time she graduated, she had been in the choir faithfully for over 10 years, where she trained under Dr. Myrtice Collins, who sang back up for Al Green. Chirondala was the overall section leader for all the sections in the choir and was a part of the cd projects while in the choir. The last project features one of her renditions of “The Lord’s Prayer,” which she leads on. The Gospel Choir has toured all over the nation and has appeared on the Bobby Jones Gospel Hour several times. Under the direction of Dr. Collins, they have been taped for Black Entertainment Television (BET) at locations in Walt Disney World, Las Vegas, and Nashville. They have also been a part of the Gospel Music Workshop of America. Chirondala has sung with several other independent gospel groups, one being Thanksgiving Praise and Worship International, and has travelled and toured with this ministry for 10 years. 

Chirondala is also a skilled theater director and stage manager. Her last play was called “The Day the Devil Came to Church”, where gospel great Dr. Bobby Jones was featured in the play.
MINISTRY 
Chirondala has worked as a praise and worship leader for ministries throughout the years and has travelled internationally for ministry. In 2012, she was asked to go in place of the 12 Grammy Award winning psalmist, CeCe Winans to Africa to conduct the praise and worship for a week long woman’s convention for Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church in Nigeria. Since then, she has travelled to China, Japan, and the Islands for ministry, just to name a few. Chirondala also networks with A-list celebrities and important political figures behind the scenes, for example, she has done projects with Bobby Brown, known for being apart of the well known R & B group New Edition and is the booking agent along with her partner, Jason Anderson for Congolese artist BM.

Chirondala is a well-rounded artist who has been in the presence of many different types of individuals. 

She has gained much knowledge while on her journey and has accomplished much, but she still has goals she desires to achieve.
